Danny Degenstein Jr.

Deg Forages was incorporated in March 2018, but the roots go deeper.

Owner Danny Degenstein Jr. is a second-generation farmer who worked alongside his father, Danny Degenstein Sr., before building Deg Forages into what it is today.

The journey started in 2015 with a single square baler and doing custom work. By 2017, 270 acres of alfalfa and timothy were established. In 2019, production expanded into irrigated export timothy on the BTAP irrigation project. From 2020 to 2025, the operation grew to 3,800 irrigated acres of timothy and 3,400 acres of dryland that consist of Tall Fescue Hay & mix Grains. Back in 2018 Danny Jr. took on the position of as Farm manager for Degenstein Farms which is a sister company to Deg Forages.

Danny Degenstein Sr. is a first-generation farmer who started Degenstein Farms which incorporated back in December 1979. Danny Sr. is the owner of Degenstein Farms which is consist of a mix dryland cropping. Danny Sr. has been farming and been in the trucking industry for over 50 years.

Lori Degenstein has a very important role on the farm as she does all the cooking during seeding, hay harvest & grain harvest. Lori is a awesome cook which everyone always is looking forward to seeing her drive into the field for supper.
